What surfaces can be pressure washed safely (concrete, pavers, wood, composite decking)?
Concrete, pavers, and walkways handle pressure washing well since they're durable, non-porous surfaces. Wood and composite decking can also be pressure washed, but they need lower pressure and more care to avoid gouging or splintering.
Will pressure washing damage or strip my deck, pavers, or paint?
Not when the pressure and technique match the surface. Concrete and pavers can take higher pressure without issue, but wood decking and painted surfaces need a lighter touch; too much pressure can strip paint, raise wood grain, or wear down paver joints. We adjust for the surface each time.
How much psi/pressure do we use, and does it change by surface?
Yes, it varies. Concrete and pavers can handle higher psi, while wood decking, composite, and painted surfaces need it dialled down significantly to avoid damage. We also switch equipment to match the job. A surface cleaner attachment for large, flat areas like driveways and patios gets an even, streak-free clean, while different nozzle tips let us control the spray pattern and intensity for edges, tight spots, and more delicate surfaces.
Do I need to move patio furniture, planters, or vehicles first?
It helps if vehicles are moved out of the work area, but for furniture and planters, our crew can typically shift smaller items to clean around them. For larger or harder-to-move pieces, clearing the space beforehand keeps things quicker and gets a more thorough clean underneath.
Can pressure washing remove oil stains, rust stains, or mildew?
Yes, in most cases. Oil, rust, and mildew stains often respond well to pressure combined with appropriate degreasers/cleaning solutions. Some deep-set or older stains may lighten significantly rather than disappear completely, but we'll let you know what to expect before starting. For moss specifically, we apply a treatment that kills it at the root rather than just knocking it off the surface, and the same solution helps your hard surfaces stay cleaner for longer between visits.
